As a Christian, I try to obey the scriptures to the fullest and that includes showing Love to all.
An incident happened on a certain day that made me to think deeply on this issue called 'Love'. I think as good people of God, we should Love with wisdom so as not to fall prey to the tactics of the devil. The bible says we should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil.
This is my story: After church service one Sunday, I was driving out of the church premises when I noticed some persons standing under the hot sun waiting for a taxi. From their appearance you could tell they have been under the scotching sun for long. As a good-hearted fellow, I decided to give them a lift(both male and female). After all, we are church members(so I thought).
As I drove on, each of them came down at their designated bus stops and as they did, they thanked and released words of blessing over me. I really felt good for being of assistance to them. After a while, I noticed I was left alone in the car with a lady. Well, I felt she was still going far and so I kept quiet but when I was almost getting to my street, I stopped the car and politely asked her to get down and then the unimaginable happened! This lady started screaming on top of her voice calling on passers-by to come to her rescue.
She succeeded in attracting quite a number of them who were eager to know what the problem was. To my greatest dismay, she said I was a Client who patronized her services all night long and I was trying to play a smart one by not paying her.
I thought I was dreaming. No one person in the crowd was willing to listen to me. They concluded I was just a Bully who was trying to take advantage of a helpless girl. All manner of insults were hurled at me. Of course, I was made to part with the little cash I had on me. I felt so bad and humiliated.
Sometime later, it was raining cats and dogs on this certain day. I saw someone who was stranded in the rain but because of my bitter experience, all I did was drive pass with my head looking straight as though I didn't see him.
Now my dear readers, if you were in my shoes, would you want to offer lift again to someone you don't know from Adam or would you go on showing Love even at your own detriment? Please your comments will help a great deal.
